The Fiber optic cable anti-shock whip is formed as a spiral tube head structure, including a gripping section and a damping section that are connected. The gripping section can be wrapped and fixed on the anti vibration cable, and the inner diameter of the helical tube structure of the damping section is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the anti vibration cable, so that the damping section can be radially movable to wrap around the anti vibration cable.

The vibration energy is dissipated by the impact between the damping section of the anti vibration whip and the cable, thereby achieving the effect of reducing the wind induced vibration of the line.

 

The types and specifications of Fiber optic cable anti-shock whips are as follows

 

ADSS anti vibration whip: This anti vibration whip is made of high elasticity, aging resistance, high strength, and flame retardant PVC plastic, suitable for fiber optic wires or lines with voltages below 132KV and small cross-sectional wires with outer diameters close to 19mm. ADSS anti vibration whips are usually used for small diameter wire anti vibration, consuming vibration energy by colliding with cables to protect optical cables from damage.

FL type spiral anti vibration whip: FL type anti vibration whip is also a common anti vibration whip, which includes a gripping section and a damping section. The gripping section is used to wrap and fix it on the anti vibration cable, while the damping section is wrapped in a spiral tubular structure on the anti vibration cable, with an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the cable, to achieve radial active wrapping and better vibration reduction.

 

Technical parameters and usage methods

 

Installation method: ADSS anti vibration whips can be installed in series or parallel. When installed in series, the first anti vibration whip is installed at a distance of>500mm from the end of the inner twisted wire, and the second one is installed at a distance of 120mm from the end of the first one; Parallel installation involves stacking two anti vibration whips together and installing them at a distance of>500mm from the end of the twisted wire.

Scope of application: Suitable for ADSS optical cables and small diameter wires, it can effectively prevent damage to optical cables caused by wind and vibration, protect wires from continuous winding, and prevent damage to fittings and tower components. ‌
